Paula,
It has already been a few months since we sat in your coffee house and enjoyed the wonderful company and warm support that you shared with us. We returned to Turkey to hear of my Mom’s passing away and were not able to return, much to our regret. We do hold dear the memories we take from being in Slayton and finding respite in your presence and coffee house. It really was a haven in the midst of a storm for us, and for that, we can not begin to thank you enough. You were an angel sent from God.
We were blown away to receive your generous gift of “Preacher’s Blend” coffee, which we drank and savored as a luxury. We hold proudly the coffee house plaque you gave us and will find a place to put it in our coffee house on Incirlik Air Base, Turkey.
We have finally received the approval from senior leadership to run with our vision for the coffee house and expect to have the room painted within the next two weeks and the rest in place by mid-July.
Please forgive our tardiness in responding to your kindness, it could never be forgotten. We will be returning to D.C. and Virginia in late May and most of June, but not likely to make it to Slayton. Please know of our fond affection for you and the Left Bank Cafe’ – you have friends in Turkey. Please let us know if we can send anything from this side of history for your cafe.
Peace,
James and Lea Tims

A co-worker had some coffee from your store sent to her, but she doesn’t drink coffee (imagine that!) So, she brought a couple of bags in to the office. Wow! I am very impressed. I will be ordering some for home too. Keep up the good work!
Miss you! When do I get another care package?! Just kidding…I really hope all is well with you! Lake Superior is b-e-a-utiful this time of year. Thinking of you…
-Kat
P.S. The parkies all LOVED the coffee…I didn’t drink it (I only have a cup o’ about once every 6 months), so I donated it to the permanent office staff who always need a pick-me-up. They were in HEAVEN!
*hugs*

Paula, wow how we miss you guys in Slayton. Robert and I may be coming back for a visit soon, I’ll let you know as I’ll want probably 5 bags of Rusty nail to bring back. Hope to see you soon…Montreal is really cold and wet. Like being in Seattle only colder. Well, hope to see you soon.

Hi to Paula and the gang,
We started with the Cheese puff…oh so divine……and as we progressed through the courses we lost track of time …. chatted with friends and indulged our senses.
The service was very friendly and quite attentive.
Above all..the atmosphere makes me feel like I’ve come home.
Thanks for being you…….we need ‘Left Bank’ to soothe our inner ‘foodies’.

Just spoke to you by telephone about coffee presses, and thank you for the information. Our conversation prompted me to write an email to Tom David at peppergun.com to complement him on his awesome product. Thanks again for your help.
Passing through from Seattle there are certain things
that are missing from the comforts of home.
COOFFFEEEEE for instance.
On the way I was driving through Slayton and it was
about that time of day for a real coffee. Now if you
are from Seattle where there is an Espresso stand
literally every block never mind Starbutt’s, the right
time of day could be anytime. Why yes some of them
there do have an intravenous line in their arm and
at 5 bucks a drive through twice a day they should
just buy stock. Now they even have Bikini Batista’s
and where the ladies look like they should be going
to the beach and there’s no sunshine cause it’s
raining all the time.
I just had to give you all the background information
cause see when I passed “cafn8ed” on somebodys’
license plate it was like a rare ray of sunshine in
Seattle and I knew there was hope. I immediately
made a big U turn on main street to find the owner
of this vehicle because I knew that was salvation.
Here in the Heartland on the prairie where the wind
always blows was this little coffee oasis called the,
Left Bank Roasterie. It was quite a discovery and
besides the coffee was hot and so is the proprietor Paula.
I barely got though the front entrance and I was welcomed
to some more of “Minnesota Nice”. Paula says to me
“Let me cook you something”, and I’ll show you my
little Roasterie in back. I got the grand tour about
where the beans came from and how the roasters
were invented and how they worked. Then as
promised Paula delivered on some nice food.
Move over Starbutt’s because this place has arrived
and I am sure Paula treats everyone swell and
you can’t miss with her coffee. I bet if your passing
through town she’s love to show you her roaster’s
and while your there have a little bite to eat. The
warmth and hospitality are not to be missed…….
Why I bet she’d even make you a custome blend
if you asked. I got a sack to go and it’s been YUM.

We enjoyed such an amazing meal with you all on a lovely June evening. The Mediterranean fare was wonderful, every dish a surprise for the palate. We’ll be back for more Saturday night theme dinners. It made for a great celebration for a 45th wedding anniversary. Even our 4-year old enjoyed the food. Thanks for such a unique dining experience so close to home. You do a fantastic job there. THANK YOU & keep up the amazing work!

Hi from the Echo folks, we enjoyed your Sat. nite tapas menu in May, really more than enjoyed. It was so great to have good food not pre-canned like chains, and the wonderful people who made, served, and Paula I believe. We will be back monthly, unless the weather intervines, like last winter and a blizzard. See you in June.
